ISO15848-1 Valve effusion type test.

Global industrial development brings about serious environmental problems, and gas pollutants or greenhouse gas emitted into the air by chemical plant or oil refinery and other industrial plants are major causes to environmental problems. The emission of volatile gas is invisible, and needs to be inspected by special instrument. The most extensive standard for testing valve packing effusion is ISO14848-1 which refers to a standard in particular for type test for valve effusion, and is used for strict inspection on packing leakage of valve and packing in designed ultimate temperature and pressure through certain opening/closing circulation.

Valve effusion test mainly tests invisible micro leakage at valve packing and valve gasket. Valve gasket is in static sealing, and is easy to meet standard requirements for effusion leakage; while packing is in dynamic sealing, and is hard to meet standard requirements. Therefore, valve effusion examination is mainly realized by testing leakage at valve packing.

API 607: Fire Test for Quarter-Turn Valves and Valves Equipped with Nonmetallic seats.

API 607 refers to the fire protection test for valve 6D and 6A, and API 607 is needed for the valve 6D which can only be rotated for 90°, and API 6FA is needed for other valves.

Ø  API 6FA: Specification for Fire Test for Valves.

Ø  API 6FD: Specification for Fire Test for Check Valves.

DN & PRESSURE DETERMINATION FOR VALVE FIRE PROTECTION TEST

In valve fire protection test, nominal diameter and pressure are covered by certain specification and pressure. For example:

DN (nominal diameter): two times of nominal diameter is allowed to be covered, for example: where 4NPS may cover 4-8NPS nominal diameter, DN100 may cover DN 100-200;

PN pressure: coverage is also specified for rated pressure, and low pressure level may cover adjacent higher pressure. For example: PN25 may cover PN 25-40.

In case of test for many valves, testing engineer may perform assessment to determine required testing reports.

API 591 Process Valve Qualification Procedure.

The standard serves as the recommended standard for verifying new product manufacturing capacity of valve manufacturing enterprise through evaluation of valve structure and quality management system of valve manufacturing enterprise.

Engineers will perform quality system evaluation for manufacturers in the principle of ISO 9000 quality management system.
